This twelfth installment from my book “The Constant Procession.” I dig deep into ways some of the approved apparitions of the Virgin Mary have influenced history.
By the end of WWI, among those who died on the battlefields were the best and brightest of that generation. This suddenly created a vacuum of natural leaders across the world.
Nihilism followed and brought on the attitude that “anything goes.” The “Roaring Twenties” brought on the “Great Depression” that in turn brought on WWII.
France, once again found itself the center of the battle ground and the country occupied this time by the Nazis.
It was during those times when a Marian apparition from long before brought hope to the beleaguered country.
During a phenomenon known as “Our Lady of the Great Return.”
The Madonna brought hope as a “one off” turned into an ‘endless procession’ as the Virgin Mary traveled across France during that terrible war.
