163- St. James sees the Madonna in Spain

Moving along the timeline of history of the Virgin Mary in an expanded look beyond my book Constant Procession to when the Virgin Mary appeared to St. James in Spain.

Our Lady of Pilar (Pillar) is a minor Basilica-Cathedral…this is where the pillar resides as do many other chapels and alters…the famous Goya has work within it.
Wider view of the wall…the actual forum is still intact in a museum.

The story goes something like this: Saint James the Apostle who with great zeal went into Spain to spread the Good New of Jesus Christ. He found himself in Zaragosa (Saragosa) around 40AD.

This was an established Roman settlement on the banks of the Ebro River. He was deep in prayer due to his unsuccessful attempts to gain followers.

The Virgin Mary who at the time was living in the Middle East came to him at that moment in the time on a pillar (pilar) made of Jasmine.

She offered her motherly support to encourage St James and helped him to renew his commitment through her encouragement and visitation.

She requested he build a chapel around the jasmine pillar that she stood on which the modern day Basilica was built around and it can be found there today.

Constant Procession tells of key apparitions of the Virgin Mary since she passed on from the world and how she serves humanity through Christianity.
