Constant Procession PODCASTS

31- Ch 19; Newsworthy

The seers of Fatima are asked to pray the rosary and told to make everything they do a sacrifice.

And after their initial sightings of the Madonna in Fatima, they find themselves in the news. A growing crowd of somewhere between 3000-5000 people appear by the third date.

Pestered by believers wanting them to ask for miracles, accused of being liars by some family members and threatened to be “boil in oil” by the local government if they didn’t recant, the stakes are high for the three little children, the eldest just ten years old at the time.

The Constant Procession is a book, a personal memoir about the history of the Virgin Mary or the Madonna since she passed on.

There are forty contiguous installments that run around 7 minutes in length each. They will be published every Tuesday morning beginning in August 2016 and read by me, Nikos Steves.

30- Ch 19; Fatima

This installment takes us into the turbulence before the start of World War I. A time when modern invention opened up new possibilities for humanity.

In retrospect, what would the world look like today had the tensions that brought all the world into mortal combat been defused before hand?

Though to debate such a reality has no bearing on life today, nor on the lives of our great-grandparents, grandparents and parents anymore – the results cannot be overstated. Because it forever altered the natural growth and maturing of humanity as these generations lost many of their best and brightest.

Human interaction and attitudes of hope and faith took a cataclysmic hit because of the violent destruction.

The Virgin Mary appeared several times before the first world war as the constant procession continues.

There are forty contiguous installments that run around 7 minutes in length each. They will be published every Tuesday morning beginning in August 2016 and read by me, Nikos Steves.

29- Ch 18; Napoleon III

This installment finds Napoleon III taking a hard line with people who start coming to Lourdes following the apparition. He finds himself inclined to support the local government officials who are determined to keep the site closed to the public.

When his only son becomes ill, the intrigue at the confluence of a powerful ruler, his religious minded wife and the local government is the little spring at Lourdes that flows along this constant procession.

28- Ch 18; Lady of Lourdes

This installment is about Our Lady of Lourdes… It took place in the year 1858. One request by the Madonna was to have a chapel built where she stood to help people, according to seer Bernadette Soubiron.

And still today it is a major Christian site where people go to heal…with well over a million people coming there each year.

There is a constant stream of people visiting…with people requesting the Virgin Mary to intercede for them, to pass their prayers onto Jesus the Christ on their behalf.

These requests are made hour after hour, day after day…

Though difficult for people without faith to understand… it is a place of comfort for many who travel there…and documented miracles have occurred.

The year is 1846. Two youths, Melanie and Maximin are surprised to see a great light where they had napped after eating their lunch of bread and cheese.

With trepidation they approach and discover a “beautiful lady” whose voice is “like music” as they witness the apparition of “Our Lady of La Salette” – though at the time, both are unsure of who they’ve met.

24- Ch 16; Mary in Paris

In this installment the Virgin Mary comes to Paris.

Losing battle after battle, the French are forced by foreign powers to accept still another monarchy. The pendulum now swings back, away from the secular reforms to unreasonable acts of intolerance as retribution. Causing in 1830 more uprisings.

This climate where the Madonna once again shows up.

In this installment we find religious teachings and worship becoming illegal and removing “Sunday” from the week. Also a new calendar begins with “year 1” which is to replace the year “1793.”

Militant upheavals and military conquests emanating in one country spreads across the world even to tiny islands far removed. And as for The Madonna, well as they say, the rest is history.

22- Ch 15; Her Procession

Benoit lived out her days helping build and grow the church that was established for the conversion of sinners as requested by the Virgin Mary.

Benoit is credited with the gift of getting people to open up about their lives not so much to unburden their souls to her, but rather to open up to themselves.

Our Lady of Laus has helped spread the love of God through the intercessions of the Virgin Mary at this site ever since.

However around the time of her death in in the early 1700s, on the world stage tensions begin shifting into various power struggles. From the island of Tinos that is taken by the Ottomans to newly created Serbia, which quickly found itself overtaken once again by the Ottomans.

21- Ch 14; Her Approach

As we move forward along this constant procession is a growing awareness that the Virgin Mary has had an impact on the world of yesterday.

Diplomacy is her way.

For many, she comes in a gentle and graceful manner as observed by the various seers over the timeline of history.

And for me, a connected history begins to reveal itself as we meet “Our Lady of the Good Encounter.”

19- Ch 12; More on St. Diego

Saint Diego wishes to see his aged uncle and discovers that “uncle” has quite a story of his own.

And at this apparition site today, though surrounded by the hustle-bustle of a major city, this space is where people still come, almost 500 years later. It is a wonderful place of tranquility.

I found myself right at home.

18- Ch 12 continues

Juan Diego’s task continues in an unusual manner.

He finds himself picking flowers in the middle of winter.

They include Castilian Roses and other out of season flowers.

The Flowers are the sign (for the Bishop) he is told.

Tell him everything and all you’ve seen.

Today, as you look at the same hill,

The people tend flowers there still.

17- Ch 12; Apparition Mission

In this installment, the Madonna appears to a man in his late fifties who by his own account is a “lowly peasant.” Her request to him is to go to the Bishop of Mexico and deliver a message from her.

Juan Diego humbly takes on this task.

Juan finds himself communicating between the human world and the sublime. Between the Mother of God and one of the most powerful people in the lands.

His attitude and his actions are sometimes bold, but often anxious, hesitant and common as he goes back and forth.

What would/will you do in this position?
